Baku: On June 12, Musa Guliyev, Chairman of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis Labour and Social Policy Committee, met with Ahmet Savasan, Chairman of the EU Harmonization Committee of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Assembly. The meeting underscored the evolving relationship between Azerbaijan and TRNC, characterized by mutual respect and cooperation.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Musa Guliyev warmly received Ahmet Savasan, highlighting the successful development of friendly and brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Recalling President Ilham Aliyev's statement, 'Our family is the Turkic world,' Guliyev stressed the importance of expanding solidarity and cooperation among Turkic states. The discussion pointed out the significance of inter-parliamentary cooperation in enhancing bilateral ties, with a focus on the role of mutual visits and meetings.

Ahmet Savasan expressed gratitude for the hospitality extended to him and commended the activities of the friendship groups within the parliaments of both nations. He emphasized the importance of strengthening interstate relations and mentioned that enhancing cooperation in tourism, trade, and other sectors would significantly contribute to the development of bilateral ties. Savasan also noted the crucial role inter-parliamentary interaction plays in deepening these relations further.

During the meeting, Javanshir Feyziyev, head of the Azerbaijan-TRNC working group on inter-parliamentary relations; Elshad Musayev, Deputy Chairman of the Labor and Social Policy Committee; and MP Goydeniz Gahramanov shared insights on the prospects for developing cooperation between the two countries.
