Chairperson of Uzbekistan Friendship Cities Alliance Highlights Historical Significance of Garabagh’s Restoration for Turkic World

Baku: Garabagh's restoration today is a historically significant process not only for Azerbaijan, but also for the entire Turkic world. Uzbekistan has supported this noble initiative from the very beginning and makes a practical contribution to the recovery and development of the liberated territories, Abidov Zakir, member of the Global South NGO Platform, Chairperson of the Uzbekistan Friendship Cities Alliance, told AZERTAC.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, important initiatives have been implemented in Garabagh to create modern social infrastructure, construct schools, preschools, and other social facilities with the participation of Uzbekistan. As President Ilham Aliyev stated, Uzbekistan was the first country to extend a helping hand to Azerbaijan in the restoration process of Garabagh. The newly constructed and opened modern comprehensive school in the city of Fuzuli has become a bright symbol of brotherhood and friendship between the peoples of the two countries, Abidov Zakir added.

He also mentioned that the first light industry enterprise established in Garabagh with the participation of Uzbek investments will contribute to the creation of new jobs there, the revival of the region's economy, and the development of local production.
