Berlin: Germany and Azerbaijan have taken a significant step towards strengthening their bilateral relations. Federal Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz announced the signing of a Joint Declaration and the establishment of the Azerbaijan-Germany Business Council during a joint press conference with President Ilham Aliyev.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Chancellor Merz highlighted the importance of this development for both nations. He emphasized Germany's commitment to expanding relations with Azerbaijan, particularly in light of current geopolitical challenges. The cooperation in oil and gas supply, especially through the Southern Gas Corridor, was noted as crucial amidst the ongoing crisis in the Middle East.

The establishment of the Azerbaijan-Germany Business Council is seen as a strategic move to enhance economic ties and facilitate business opportunities between the two countries. The Joint Declaration is expected to serve as a foundational framework for future collaborations and partnerships.
