Charges Filed Against Azerbaijani Popular Front Party Member Mammad Ibrahimli

Baku: Charges have been filed against Mammad Ibrahimli, a member of the Azerbaijani Popular Front Party (APFP), who was detained by the State Security Service. APA reports that Ibrahimli faces charges under Article 278.1 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to actions aimed at seizing power by force, retaining power by force, or forcibly changing the constitutional order.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the State Security Service also questioned Ali Karimli, the chairman of APFP, alongside Mammad Ibrahimli. This was part of an ongoing investigation. Both individuals underwent searches at their homes before being taken to the State Security Service for further questioning. These actions are linked to a criminal case against Ramiz Mehdiyev, which is currently under investigation by the State Security Service.

The criminal case against Ramiz Mehdiyev, the former head of the Presidential Administration, includes charges under Articles 278.1 for acts aimed at seizing state power, 274 for treason against the state, and 193-1.3.2 for the legalization of property obtained through criminal means.
