Chile hit by 5.6-magnitude earthquake

A 5.6-magnitude earthquake was recorded off the coast of Central Chile on Sunday, according to data provided by the United States Geological Survey (USGS), APA reports citing Teletrader.

The epicenter of the quake was 40 kilometers northeast of the nation’s capital Santiago at a depth of 102 kilometers.

The population of Santiago is estimated at 6.9 million in 2023.
