Baku:China will continue to support the protection of Azerbaijan's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, as stated by Chinese Ambassador to Azerbaijan Lu Mei during a briefing for journalists.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, Ambassador Lu Mei highlighted the strengthening mutual political trust between China and Azerbaijan. She emphasized that Azerbaijan values China's stance on defending international justice and multilateralism and is eager to enhance coordination and cooperation with China on international and regional matters.

The ambassador reiterated China's commitment to supporting Azerbaijan's chosen path of development that aligns with its national characteristics. She also acknowledged the firm support Azerbaijan has shown on issues related to China's core interests.

Lu Mei mentioned that both countries, being part of the Global South, collaborate effectively on multilateral platforms, including the United Nations, to promote genuine multilateralism and uphold international justice. Additionally, China supports Azerbaijan's upcoming chairmanship of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) for 2026-2028 and its membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
