Baku: Chinese Ambassador to Azerbaijan Lu Mei stated that the Chinese People's Liberation Army is prepared to further deepen its interaction and cooperation with Azerbaijan's Armed Forces.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, during a reception commemorating the 99th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, Lu Mei highlighted the status of China and Azerbaijan as comprehensive strategic partners. She noted that bilateral relations have been progressing steadily under the strategic guidance of the countries' leaders.
The ambassador emphasized the significance of military cooperation within the bilateral strategic partnership. "The Chinese army is ready to further deepen interaction and cooperation with the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, as well as make new contributions to the development of bilateral cooperation," Lu Mei said.
She pointed out China's commitment to working with Azerbaijan in implementing key agreements made by the heads of state, expanding cooperation in areas such as the Belt and Road Initiative, and enhancing capabilities in artificial intelligence. Lu Mei also highlighted the joint efforts to promote peace and development regionally and globally.
Lu Mei remarked that since its establishment in 1927, the Chinese People's Liberation Army has consistently fulfilled its mission to safeguard China's state sovereignty, territorial integrity, security, and development interests. She stated, "The Chinese People's Liberation Army is not only an important force serving the maintenance of world peace, but also plays a significant role in strengthening global stability."
Additionally, the ambassador mentioned the active participation of the Chinese Armed Forces in UN peacekeeping operations, international humanitarian assistance, and missions responding to natural disasters.
Lu Mei concluded by referring to Chinese President Xi Jinping's concept of a community with a shared future for humanity, emphasizing that this approach opens up new prospects for enduring peace, global security, and common prosperity.
