Chinese Citizen Evacuated from Iran with Azerbaijan’s Help

Baku: A Chinese citizen, Lee Wong, expressed gratitude to the Government of Azerbaijan after being evacuated from Iran through the Astara state border checkpoint. Wong, representing the Federation of Chinese Organizations in Iran, recounted the events following an attack that prompted the evacuation.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Lee Wong stated that they stayed in Iran for approximately four to five days after the incident before deciding to leave. Wong credited the collaboration between the Federation of Chinese Organizations in Iran and the Chinese Embassy in Iran for facilitating the evacuation of Chinese citizens from the country. He mentioned, "And after we were doing all these jobs, we decided to leave by ourselves."

Wong further expressed his appreciation to the Government of Azerbaijan and the Chinese embassy in Azerbaijan, noting that arrangements were being made for their transport to the airport in Baku. "Now I think they are waiting outside of the gate, bringing us to the airport of Baku," Wong added.
