TASHKENT: Chinese corporations, including China Construction Fifth Engineering Division Corp and BSM Group Limited, are set to establish a “Two regions – One Park” special industrial zone in Chirchik, Uzbekistan, as announced by the Tashkent region’s administration. The project, which aims to boost local industry, will commence construction in early 2025, with the first production phases anticipated to start in 2026. This initiative is expected to generate over $200 million in foreign direct investment and create more than 1,000 new jobs.
According to Trend News Agency, the industrial zone will host approximately 20 new enterprises focusing on diverse sectors such as electrical engineering, textiles, construction materials, specialized machinery, and pharmaceuticals. The preparation of design and estimate documentation is currently underway to facilitate the technopark’s organization.
In a parallel development, China Triumph International Engineering and China Xiaou Group have announced plans to establish a
technopark in Uzbekistan’s Fergana region. This facility will focus on producing vehicles under a new brand using localized components. The initial phase will involve setting up assembly, painting, and adjustment facilities with parts imported from China. Once operational, the plant is projected to produce up to 60,000 gas, electric, and hybrid vehicles annually.
