TBILISI: Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili has issued a strong statement condemning the recent parliamentary election in Georgia, describing the process as entirely falsified. The Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia party is currently leading with a significant majority, gathering 53.93% of the votes.

According to Trend News Agency, President Zurabishvili addressed the nation, claiming that the election was marred by what she termed as “total falsification” and a complete seizure of votes, employing various methods of election fraud observed both domestically and internationally. Her statement raises questions about the integrity of the electoral process in the country.

The Central Election Commission reported that results have been processed from 3,109 out of 3,111 polling stations, accounting for 99.936% of all stations. The Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia party emerged as the frontrunner with 1,118,796 votes. Meanwhile, the coalition “For Change,” which includes parties such as Gvaramia, Melia,
“Girchi – More Freedom,” and “Droa!,” received 11.03% of the votes, totaling 228,821. The “Unity – National Movement” coalition garnered 10.161% with 210,787 votes, the Strong Georgia coalition obtained 8.814% with 182,839 votes, and the Gakharia for Georgia Party achieved 7.771%, translating to 161,215 votes.
