The civil marriage has passed from Europe to Azerbaijan, said member of the Parliament of the Republic of Azerbaijan Fazail Aghamali at the meeting of Milli Majlis today, APA reports.

Fazail Aghamali noted that according to the research in the Europe, civil marriage is decreasing: “However, civil marriage is continuously increasing in Azerbaijan. In the last 10 years, the number of children born from civil marriages has risen up to 3 times in cities, and up to 6 times in villages and districts.

The MP has also talked about the difficulties that a civil marriage creates for the people.

Speaker Sahiba Gafarova noted that civil marriage is illegal: ‘Both men and women know this. Therefore, they should not enter into a civil marriage.”
