Coalition for “Greater Transparency in Extractive Industries” to discuss report of State Statistics Committee

Economist Ilham Huseynli has been re-elected as coordinator of the board of the NGO Coalition on increasing transparency in extractive industries.

 

At the same meeting unanimously, with nine votes, Azer Rasul was elected member of the Coalition. This was reported to Turan by the Coalition.

 

On 29 December the Coalition will discuss an estimated opinion on the “Final Report on Transparency in the Extractive Industries” for 2021 prepared by the State Statistics Committee. Other relevant issues will also be discussed.

 

Recall that the Coalition for “Greater Transparency in Extractive Industries” was established in 2004 and consists of more than 80 members not only in the capital city, but in the regions of Azerbaijan as well. The Coalition has focused much of its efforts on supporting effective and reliable EITI implementation and expansion of civil society participation. The Coalition has also pushed for beneficial ownership disclosure and campaigned for transparency of state-owned companies.

 

Also, the Coalition for “Greater Transparency in Extractive Industries” is an associate member of the international organisation “Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative” (EITI).
