Baku: A commemoration event marking Trkiye's July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day was held in Baku, APA reports. The event saw the participation of Trkiye's Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Birol Akgun, along with embassy staff, members of the Milli Majlis, and other officials.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Ambassador Birol Akgun addressed the gathering, emphasizing Trkiye's ongoing commitment to combating the terrorist organization, which was responsible for the coup attempt on July 15. He highlighted recent revelations about the organization, describing it as a dangerous entity that engages in propaganda, secret plans, deception, and espionage. Akgun stressed that threat extends beyond Trkiye.
The ambassador also expressed his gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and the people of Azerbaijan for their support of the Turkish state and nation during the crisis. Following his address, a video message from Burhaneddin Duran, Head of Communications at the Presidency of the Republic of Trkiye, was shown. In his message, Duran stated that Trkiye has successfully eradicated influence within the country, though he noted that some members sought by Trkiye for extradition continue to reside in various countries, sometimes receiving support.
