Georgia: Georgia welcomes the progress toward peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, said Chair of the Georgian Parliament’s Committee on Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, Maia Bitadze, during her speech at the OSCE PA session held in Istanbul, APA’s local bureau reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, achieving peace between the two countries creates conditions for regional security and economic growth. Bitadze emphasized that Georgia, historically considered a Silk Road country, is prepared to act as a neutral and reliable partner to promote sustainable development of connectivity throughout the region.

The committee chair further noted that Georgia’s role in the Middle Corridor is growing rapidly. In 2024 alone, a 62 percent increase in freight turnover along the corridor was recorded, and the modernization of railways in Georgia is expected to significantly enhance its throughput capacity.
