Baku: Paul Nsapu Mukulu, President of Congo's National Human Rights Commission, underscored the need to address the enduring consequences of colonialism during an international conference titled '101 Years of Injustice under Belgian Colonialism and the Struggle for Reparations.' Organized by the Baku Initiative Group, the event highlighted the historical oppression faced by the Congolese people and the ongoing task of addressing past injustices.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Mukulu expressed gratitude to the Baku Initiative Group for spearheading discussions on this critical issue. He emphasized that initiatives like these are crucial for identifying sustainable solutions that benefit all parties involved, rather than serving the interests of one side. Mukulu called for human rights institutions and other stakeholders to work towards concrete solutions to rectify injustices of the past, which continue to manifest in various forms today.

Mukulu further stressed that colonialism should not be viewed merely as a historical event but as a significant human rights concern. He advocated for active engagement and collaboration among interested parties to eliminate the lingering effects of colonialism and promote justice for affected communities.
