According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the officials emphasized the strong bilateral relations fostered by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The strategic partnership and alliance between the two countries are based on high-level mutual trust and political will, which have led to dynamic developments in cooperation across various sectors.

The meeting recalled the Azerbaijani delegation's visit to Uzbekistan in September 2025, where they participated in significant events such as the 6th Meeting of the Attorneys/Prosecutors General of the ECO Member States and the 4th Meeting of the Council of Prosecutors General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). The prosecutors general highlighted the importance of expanding collaboration in areas such as mutual legal assistance in criminal cases, extradition, and combating transnational organized crime. They also stressed the need for cooperation in combating corruption, cybercrime, and terrorist financing, as well as the application of digital technologies and professional training for prosecutors.

The signed Cooperation Program aims to enhance cooperation between the two countries' prosecutorial offices from 2027 to 2028. It outlines plans for mutual visits, joint training sessions, expert exchanges, and coordinated international activities.
