BAKU: The Baku Olympic Stadium is nearly set to welcome attendees of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), with final preparations underway in the Blue Zone, as confirmed by Turan Suleymanov, Director of Venue Management Department for COP29.

According to Trend News Agency, Suleymanov, during a media tour of the venue, highlighted the readiness of the Blue Zone, which includes 26 meeting rooms and 9 parallel event rooms equipped with necessary technical facilities. Additionally, the area features a pavilion zone that hosts 155 country pavilions, ensuring a comprehensive and comfortable experience for guests. “Meeting attendees will have the essential technical equipment. A pavilion zone with 155 country pavilions will be notable. Guest comfort will be ensured by on-site services,” stated Suleymanov.

The conference, scheduled for November in Azerbaijan, was designated during the plenary meeting of COP28 held last December in Dubai. The UN
Framework Convention on Climate Change, established at the Rio Earth Summit in June 1992, aims to prevent harmful human interference with the climate system. This annual conference, known as COP, serves as the supreme decision-making body for international climate policy.
