Baku: 'Baku Climate Action Week and Climate Week NYC are pivotal platforms for presenting Trkiye's action agenda as part of COP31 and conducting final consultations,' Fatma Varank, Deputy Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change of the Republic of Trkiye and COP31 CEO, told AZERTAC.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Fatma Varank described the discussions held during Baku Climate Action Week as a priority for Trkiye's climate action agenda and expressed her gratitude to the Government of Azerbaijan and the COP29 Presidency. She emphasized the significance of these discussions as Trkiye gears up for COP31, which is set to take place in November in Antalya, Trkiye.
Fatma Varank highlighted that with less than two months remaining, the events occurring during this period are crucial for COP31 preparations. She expressed confidence in the ongoing collaboration between the Azerbaijani COP29 Presidency and Trkiye, indicating that this partnership would continue to strengthen as part of COP31.
Furthermore, Varank underscored Trkiye's commitment to hosting a successful COP in Antalya, aiming for the decisions made there to leave a lasting impact on the climate agenda in the years ahead.
