Baku: The trial in the criminal case against citizens of the Republic of Armenia continued at the Baku Military Court on December 4. Participants included the accused, their defense attorneys, some victims and their legal heirs or representatives, and state prosecutors. The hearing began with statements from the defense attorneys.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, defense attorney Agshin Mammadli, representing Davit Ishkhanyan, emphasized that a court verdict should be based solely on conclusive and undisputed evidence, urging the court to acquit Ishkhanyan. Similarly, Elchin Amirov, another defense attorney, requested the acquittal of his client, citing a lack of substantial evidence.

Vafa Mehdiyeva, representing Levon Balayan, argued that her client’s actions did not constitute a crime and therefore requested an acquittal. Sagi Mammadov, another defender for Balayan, echoed this sentiment, also seeking an acquittal for his client.

Nizami Aliyev, representing Davit Allahverdyan, stated that his client does not plead guilty to the charges, describing the evidence against Allahverdyan as baseless and unreliable. He requested the court to acquit his client, a request supported by Allahverdyan’s third defender, Elmaddin Mamadov.
