Yekaterinburg: An investigation has been launched into the torture and intentional killing of Azerbaijani citizens in the city of Yekaterinburg, said Nemat Avezov, head of the Investigation Department of the General Prosecutor’s Office, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, preliminary investigations have established that numerous Azerbaijani citizens living at various addresses in Yekaterinburg were detained for crimes committed in previous years. The victims were struck multiple times with hard, blunt objects, leading to severe injuries. Huseyn Safarov succumbed to his injuries around 3 p.m. on the same day at the administrative building of the Yekaterinburg Ministry of Internal Affairs. Ziyaddin Safarov died the following day while being transported in an operational vehicle due to his injuries.
The bodies of the deceased were repatriated, and medical examinations were assigned. A large investigative team was formed by the decision of the First Deputy Prosecutor General. The preliminary investigation of the criminal case is now under special supervision by the Prosecutor General.
