Baku: The ‘Culture and Law: Contemporary Challenges’ Forum took place at the Heydar Aliyev Center, organized by the Ministry of Culture. The event emphasized the crucial intersection of culture and law, focusing on how cultural values should influence legislation.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, Minister of Culture Adil Karimli highlighted the necessity for culture and law to progress in tandem. He asserted that cultural values should be integrated into the legal framework, underscoring the pivotal role culture plays in shaping legislation.

Deputy Speaker of the Milli Majlis, Ziyafat Asgarov, addressed the complexity and significance of fostering a legal culture within society. He emphasized that safeguarding culture is a collective responsibility, extending beyond the ministry and cultural professionals to involve the entire society.

Rafael Huseynov, another Deputy Speaker of the Milli Majlis, echoed similar sentiments regarding the mobilization of efforts to protect language and culture. He stressed that the concept of mobilization, while often linked to military contexts, is equally pertinent in cultural protection. Preserving linguistic purity, he noted, is vital and forms a broader effort to safeguard cultural heritage.

The forum featured a three-part panel discussion where participants engaged in-depth on topics such as national identity, language policy, the preservation of cultural values, and the evolution of state-legal relations.
