Baku: Following the transfer of the controlling stake in Davr Bank to ABB Bank, the bank's international ratings have started to improve.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the international rating agency SandP has upgraded Davr Bank's long-term credit rating from B to B+. The rating outlook has been set to 'Stable'. In its assessment, the agency notes that, if needed, Davr Bank may receive significant support from ABB Financial Group, which has a higher credit rating.
SandP experts state that over the next year, Davr Bank will continue to focus primarily on retail banking, as well as financing small and medium-sized enterprises. These segments will remain the Bank's key areas of activity and will contribute to its further growth. At the same time, Davr Bank will be able to fully benefit from new business opportunities that have emerged following its integration into ABB Financial Group. These include serving customers with Azerbaijani and Turkish capital operating in Uzbekistan, as well as integration with ABB Bank's international money transfer services.
All these factors have contributed to maintaining a stable outlook for the Bank's ratings. Davr Bank's strong capital buffers and asset quality also support this outlook. SandP expects that Davr Bank's liquidity level will remain sufficient, and the Bank will maintain access to financing from international financial institutions.
The SandP report also notes that Davr Bank accounts for approximately 10-12% of the total assets of ABB Financial Group. At the same time, the acquisition of the controlling stake in the bank highlights its alignment with ABB Bank's strategic goal of geographic expansion during the Group's new stage of development.
