Baku: A delegation from the Turkish National Defense University, led by Lieutenant General Burhan Aktas, Deputy Rector of the University, visited Azerbaijan to strengthen military education ties, the Ministry of Defense told AZERTAC. The group, comprising senior staff and faculty members from the Land Forces, Air Force, and Naval Forces academies, as well as participants of the "Staff Management Course," engaged in a series of activities and meetings during their visit.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the delegation first visited the Alley of Honors, paying respects to the graves of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and renowned ophthalmologist-scientist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva. They also honored the memory of fallen soldiers at the Alley of Martyrs and the Turkish Martyrs' Cemetery by laying flowers.
As part of the visit agenda, First Deputy Minister of Defense, Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, Colonel General Karim Valiyev held a meeting with the delegation. During the discussions, he highlighted the significance of the friendship, brotherhood, and alliance between Azerbaijan and Trkiye, emphasizing their contribution to advancing military education.
The dialogue underscored the importance of expanding mutual exchanges to enhance the professional knowledge and skills of military personnel from both nations. Lieutenant General Burhan Aktas expressed his gratitude for the hospitality and noted that such visits are crucial for the further development of bilateral relations.
The meeting also covered ongoing initiatives and future plans to expand cooperation in military education, addressing joint projects for training professional personnel and other areas of shared interest.
