St. petersburg: An Azerbaijani delegation, comprising Sabuhi Aliyev and Mahmud Mehdiyev from the Prosecutor General's Office, attended the working meeting of the CIS Coordination Council of Prosecutors General. This meeting took place on March 11-12 in St. Petersburg, Russia.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting focused on preparations for the 36th meeting of the Council, scheduled for 2026. Discussions included several draft decisions and practical topics concerning mutual legal assistance and the expansion of cooperation between law enforcement agencies. The event also served as a platform for experience exchange among the participants.
As part of the event, an expert meeting was held on the recovery of property acquired through crime. Prosecutor Mahmud Mehdiyev shared Azerbaijan's experiences regarding legislative and institutional reforms. He highlighted the national strategies for identifying, tracking, confiscating, and managing criminal assets. Mehdiyev also emphasized the importance of productive cooperation with regional and international partners in these areas.
