Paris: France attacker Ousmane Dembele clinched the 2025 FIFA Best Men’s Player Award, while Barcelona’s Aitana Bonmati secured the Best Women’s Player Award for the third consecutive year.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Dembele’s outstanding performance included scoring eight goals and providing six assists, propelling Paris Saint-Germain to its first UEFA Champions League victory.

The 28-year-old Frenchman also earned the MVP titles in the UEFA Champions League and Ligue 1 for the 2024-25 season, further contributing to his recognition. Additionally, Dembele played a crucial role in leading PSG to the final of the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup.

On the women’s side, Aitana Bonmati, despite undergoing surgery for a fractured fibula in December, was awarded MVP honors in both the UEFA Women’s Champions League and the Women’s Euro 2025. However, she was unable to guide her club or national team to victory in those tournaments.

Luis Enrique of Spain was honored with the Best Men’s Coach award after guiding PSG to a victory over Inter Milan in the Champions League final and securing a domestic treble, including the Ligue 1, Coupe de France, and Trophee des Champions titles. England’s Sarina Wiegman was named Best Women’s Coach for the fifth time, having led England to triumph in the Women’s Euro 2025 against Spain in a penalty shootout.

In recognition of their contributions, six players from PSG were included in the Best FIFA Men’s 11, and a mix of seven Spanish and four English players were named in the Best FIFA Women’s 11. PSG’s Gianluigi Donnarumma was honored as Best Men’s Goalkeeper, while Chelsea’s Hannah Hampton received the Best Women’s Goalkeeper accolade.

The 2025 Puskas Award for the best goal of the year was awarded to Santiago Montiel for his goal for Independiente against Independiente Rivadavia on May 11, 2025, in Argentina’s Torneo Apertura.
