Demolition of Historical Monuments Prohibited in Baku

Baku: No historical monument or cultural heritage site in Baku is allowed to be demolished, Riad Gasimov, Head of Baku General Directorate of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture, told journalists.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Gasimov highlighted the major reforms and large-scale projects underway in Baku, emphasizing sustainable development and the creation of a people-oriented urban environment. He stated that preserving heritage is a key state priority, evidenced by developments in areas such as ‘Icherisheher,’ Fountains Square, and the three phases of Central Park.

Gasimov also mentioned future plans to extend the Boulevard to a length of 25 kilometers, aiming to further enhance the city’s modern, comfortable, and convenient environment.
