Deputy Minister Highlights Azerbaijan’s Role in Providing Uninterrupted Energy Supplies to Georgia

Baku: Azerbaijan provides Georgia with uninterrupted supplies of gas and other energy resources, Georgia's Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Inga Phaladze stated while speaking at the 31st Baku Energy Forum.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Phaladze emphasized the strong cooperation between Georgia and Azerbaijan, noting that since Georgia lacks natural resources, Azerbaijan plays a critical role in supplying it with gas and other energy resources.

Phaladze also highlighted Georgia's active participation in discussions and implementation of strategic projects with neighboring countries. She underscored Georgia's support for the development of renewable energy systems in neighboring states, which enables Georgia to supply electricity when needed.

Moreover, Phaladze pointed out the significance of introducing new technologies, such as energy storage systems and battery storage facilities, to enhance the stability and reliability of the energy system. Georgia is also expanding its electricity networks and constructing new substations to further bolster its energy infrastructure.

She concluded by stating that Georgia is committed to strengthening energy security through expanded cooperation with neighboring countries, reinforcing its role as a reliable transit country in the region.
