Festive Event Celebrates International Children’s Day at Baku Zoo

Baku: At the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and head of the IDEA Public Union, the Baku Zoo held its traditional festive event, "The Future Belongs to Children," celebrating International Children's Day on June 1.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the event was organized with support from the Baku Landscaping Service and welcomed over 250 children from orphanages No. 1, 2, and 3, along with attendees from various kindergartens and child development centers. The celebration combined entertainment and education, featuring interactive games and competitions throughout the zoo.

Magicians and popular cartoon characters entertained the children, adding a whimsical element to the event. The celebration also allowed for creative expression, with children participating in hands-on masterclasses such as drawing, plaster figure painting, and eco-bag decoration.

A significant focus of the event was environmental education. Young visitors learned about various animal species at the zoo, with guides offering detailed insights into the animals' lifestyles, habitats, and feeding habits, tailored to suit the children's ages.

Additionally, the IDEA Animal Care Center presented a shelter corner, where organizers emphasized the importance of protecting stray animals. This initiative aimed to foster empathy and responsibility in children toward all living creatures.
