Yekaterinburg: In a startling revelation, Adalat Hasanov, Director General of the Association of Forensic Medicine and Pathological Anatomy of the Ministry of Health, disclosed that the body of Ziyaddin Safarov, who was killed in Yekaterinburg, showed signs of severe trauma rather than the officially recorded cause of death, heart failure.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the initial medical death certificate provided by Russian authorities indicated that Safarov’s demise resulted from acute heart-lung failure. However, the recent internal examination conducted by Hasanov’s team revealed a series of grave injuries. The findings included subcutaneous hemorrhaging on the scalp, bleeding in the brain’s dura mater and pia mater, blunt trauma, and chest compression. Notably, all ribs were fractured in two distinct lines, with one rib entirely missing.

Further examination uncovered bleeding in the diaphragm, hematomas in the paranephric regions, extensive soft tissue hemorrhaging in the spine, and contusions in the testes and scrotum. The detailed autopsy concluded that Safarov’s death was due to severe post-traumatic shock from multiple injuries, a stark contrast to the heart failure diagnosis recorded earlier by Russian experts.

The new findings raise significant questions about the circumstances surrounding the deaths of Ziyaddin Safarov and his brother, prompting a call for a thorough investigation into the discrepancies between the Russian and Azeri forensic examinations.
