Gagauzia: An international scientific and practical conference titled 'The Unbreakable Thread of Time: The Connection Between Centuries and the Heritage of Museums' took place in the village of C®rso?vo, within Moldova's Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia. The event, held on September 16, was part of the celebrations for the 60th anniversary of the Dmitri Kara €š¬…¡¬¡oban National Gagauz Historical and Ethnographic Museum.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the conference's official opening featured speeches from several distinguished figures, including Marina Semyonova, Head of the General Directorate of Culture of Gagauzia; Todur Zanet, an academician, writer, researcher, and translator; Petru Vicol, Director General of the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History of Moldova; and Lyudmila Marin, Director of the National Gagauz Historical and Ethnographic Museum.

With the backing of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (T€š¬¦‚¬Å¡¬€¦‚¬Å“RKSOY), the conference saw participation from Amina Melikova, Director of the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum and PhD in Art History, representing Azerbaijan. Melikova delivered a presentation titled '10 Reasons Why a Carpet Can Make You Happy' during the conference's first panel, 'Cultural Heritage of the Turkic World: Research, Preservation and Development.'

The second panel of the conference, themed 'Museum Collections: Preserving the Past, Paving the Way to the Future,' provided further insights into the significance of museum collections.

The conference facilitated an exchange of perspectives and experiences among representatives and specialists from science and culture sectors across Moldova, Azerbaijan, Trkiye, Uzbekistan, and other countries. It highlighted the importance of researching, preserving, and transmitting the cultural heritage of the Turkic world to future generations, safeguarding museum collections, and the crucial role museums play in maintaining a society's cultural memory.
