Director of Shymkent International Terminal Highlights Significance of Shymkent-Baku Route

Shymkent: The city of Shymkent and Shymkent Airport have inaugurated new pathways to Southeast Asia, Russia's regions, and Middle Eastern countries. This development was highlighted by Vladimir Denisov, Director of SCAT Airlines and Shymkent International Terminal LLC, during an event marking the launch of AZAL's direct Baku-Shymkent-Baku flight.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, Denisov emphasized the importance of the connection between Shymkent Airport's passenger terminal and Heydar Aliyev International Airport as a crucial component in the activities and cooperation between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. He recalled the early years of Kazakhstan's independence when routes like Aktau-Baku were initiated and mentioned the heavily traveled flights from Baku to Shymkent, primarily operated by AZAL using Tu-134 aircraft.

Denisov also noted that Azerbaijan and Heydar Aliyev International Airport have long served as a gateway to Europe, America, and neighboring countries. He expressed pleasure in welcoming colleagues and friends from Azerbaijan to the terminal, expressing optimism that the cooperation between Shymkent and Baku will be restored and hold substantial future prospects.
