Bishkek: The Middle Corridor, also known as the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, is transforming from an alternative pathway into a major channel for international logistics, according to Meerim Usubalieva, Country Director of Women in TLP Kyrgyzstan and Head of Road Freight Operations at Caravan Logistics. This development marks a significant shift in trade logistics, as Kyrgyz companies increasingly rely on this route for transporting cargo from Europe to Central Asia. The corridor spans the Black Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, the Caspian Sea, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Usubalieva highlighted that there is a consistent rise in the volume of cargo being transported via the Middle Corridor. Amidst instability in other regions, this route is growing in importance for global trade and transportation security. She emphasized that the corridor's future development hinges on enhanced coordination between the participating countries.
Usubalieva further stated that ongoing improvements in transport infrastructure, quicker transit processes, and more effective inter-country cooperation are crucial. These factors will enhance the route's competitiveness and solidify its status as a key transport corridor across Eurasia.
