Disinformation Campaign Targets Azerbaijan-Trkiye Relations on Russian Platform

Baku: A disinformation campaign has been identified as targeting the strategic alliance between Azerbaijan and Trkiye, according to MEDIA, as reported by the Azeri-Press news agency (APA). The Media Development Agency has released a statement addressing this issue, highlighting the spread of false information on foreign online platforms and social media, aimed at undermining the alliance between the two nations.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, investigations have revealed that the roots of this disinformation campaign trace back to the Russian-language website, Tsargrad.tv. The Media Development Agency has strongly condemned these actions, emphasizing the unacceptable nature of such disinformation. The agency warned that this campaign seeks to mislead public opinion through false and manipulative content, specifically targeting the brotherly and allied relations between Azerbaijan and Trkiye.

The agency has urged Azerbaijani and Turkish journalists and media outlets to remain vigilant against these disinformation attempts. It has called on them to avoid spreading unverified information and to act responsibly to protect the integrity of the information environment. Furthermore, the public in both countries is encouraged to disregard false information and rely solely on official statements.

In response to these developments, the Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan has expressed its commitment to continued cooperation with the Directorate of Communications of the Presidency of the Republic of Trkiye. This collaboration aims to prevent further instances of disinformation and to establish a unified stance against such campaigns.
