Donnarumma Captures FIFA Best Men’s Goalkeeper Award

Paris: Gianluigi Donnarumma has been named as The Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper 2025. It is the first time that the Italian shot-stopper has claimed the award, according to FIFA’s official website.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Donnarumma enjoyed an abundance of riches during the last year in earning trophies in four different competitions with former club Paris Saint-Germain. The highlight was a clean sheet in a 5-0 triumph over Internazionale in the UEFA Champions League final on 31 May 2025, although the former AC Milan star had produced several performances in the preceding rounds.

The 26-year-old No1 also collected another three titles on the domestic front in French football, winning Ligue 1, the Coupe de France, and the Trophee des Champions. He was also in the PSG team that finished as runners-up at the FIFA Club World Cup 2025S.

Now with Premier League side Manchester City, Donnarumma finished ahead of fellow nominees Alisson Becker, Thibaut Courtois, Emiliano Martinez, Manuel Neuer, David Raya, Yann Sommer, and Wojciech Szczesny in the voting for this year’s award.
