Baku: A total of 6 tonnes 223 kg 519.057 grams of narcotic drugs seized from illegal circulation were taken out of circulation in the first seven months of this year, APA reports. This significant haul highlights the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the information was released by the State Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs. The commission reported that the total value of the narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances seized is estimated at AZN 187.2 million.
The removal of these substances from illegal circulation marks a substantial achievement in Azerbaijan's fight against drug-related crimes. The authorities continue to intensify their efforts to curb the spread of narcotics and safeguard public health and safety.
