Gardabani: A person identified as M.M., born in 1992, has been detained in Georgia on charges of violating traffic safety rules and causing a fatality, APA's local bureau reports, citing the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs. The incident occurred yesterday in the Gardabani district, where the suspect, driving under the influence of alcohol, struck a pedestrian.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the investigation revealed that the victim, identified as A.Q., born in 2007, succumbed to injuries at the scene of the accident. Following the tragic event, law enforcement officers were prompt in detaining the driver immediately after the incident.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident is currently underway. The charges faced by the suspect could result in a penalty of up to seven years in prison. Reports have identified the victim as Aida Gurbanova.
