Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a telephone conversation, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports quoting the Kremlin press service.

During the telephone conversation, Putin briefed on the special military operation in Ukraine, noted the principled approaches and assessments in this context, and explained in detail the main goals and objectives.

It was stressed that the special operation continued according to plan and schedule. Putin said that the Russian Armed Forces are doing everything possible to save the lives and security of civilians, accurate strikes are aimed only at military infrastructure facilities. The actions of nationalist and neo-Nazi groups, which use individuals, including foreigners, as “human shields”, are characterized by special cruelty and ruthlessness. “

It was confirmed that Russia is ready for dialogue with the Ukrainian authorities and foreign partners to resolve the conflict. At the same time, attention was drawn to the ineffectiveness of attempts by Ukrainian forces to prolong the negotiation process, which they use to regroup their forces and means. In this regard, it was stressed that the suspension of the special operation is possible only if Kyiv ceases military operations and meets certain Russian requirements.

It is hoped that during the next round of talks, the Ukrainian representatives will demonstrate a more constructive approach, taking into account the realities of the situation.

The presidents of Russia and Turkey stressed the importance of continuing relations between the diplomatic and military departments of the two countries. Vladimir Putin confirmed that Russia is ready to provide all necessary assistance for the safe evacuation of Turkish citizens from the war zone.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan criticized the widespread campaign against Russian culture and its figures in a number of Western countries.
