Dutch Ambassador and Embassy Staff Evacuated from Iran via Azerbaijan Border

Baku: The Ambassador of the Netherlands to Iran and the embassy staff have been successfully evacuated via the Azerbaijan border. Ambassador Emiel de Bont and his team were escorted through the border a short while ago, ensuring their safe passage out of Iran.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Ambassador Emiel de Bont extended his gratitude to the Azerbaijani state for facilitating a secure evacuation process. He acknowledged the efforts made by Azerbaijan in ensuring the safety of the Dutch diplomatic personnel during this critical operation.

Additionally, the evacuation efforts also included the safe passage of several other foreign nationals and diplomats. Throughout the day, 9 Algerian diplomats, 13 Azerbaijani citizens, 13 Chinese citizens, 2 U.S. citizens, 1 Canadian citizen, 2 citizens of the Russian Federation, and 1 Finnish diplomat were evacuated via the Astara state border checkpoint. This coordinated effort underscores the collaborative measures taken to ensure the safety of numerous individuals amidst the ongoing situation.
