Tbilisi: Rasul Zakiyev, a member of the Azerbaijani national para-powerlifting team, delivered an outstanding performance, securing two more silver medals at the Tbilisi 2026 European Open Championships held in Georgia.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, competing in the 97 kg division, Zakiyev posted a best lift of 126 kg and a total of 358 kg, securing the runner-up position among juniors. As the event carried European Open Championship status, Zakiyev received two extra silver medals. This achievement followed his earlier success, where he secured two silver medals the day before.

In related news, Ilhamiz Karimov, competing in the +107 kg category, topped the junior category, earning first place.
