Baku: In a significant gathering at the 13th session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13), Dutch representative Pit Gerard Scheer from the Municipality of The Hague emphasized the global nature of the housing problem. Scheer acknowledged the efforts of Azerbaijan in hosting the event, underscoring the importance of uniting various stakeholders to address the housing issues that affect both the Global South and the Global North.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Scheer expressed gratitude towards Azerbaijan for its role in organizing WUF13 and attracting a diverse group of participants. He noted the substantial interest shown by foreign attendees and emphasized the value of the discussions taking place. "I think that many important experiences are being shared at WUF13," he remarked, highlighting the forum's role in facilitating vital exchanges of knowledge and strategies among international participants.
