Baku: "The World Urban Forum is of paramount importance in terms of shaping the future of sustainable cities," stated Emiliana Soares, Technical Advisor to the Secretariat of State for State Administration and Urbanism of East Timor, who is participating in the 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13).
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Emiliana Soares highlighted the significance of East Timor's participation in such prestigious forums, especially considering the country's independence since 2002. She emphasized that the event provides valuable opportunities for exchanging experiences and information with representatives from various countries.
Emiliana Soares further praised Azerbaijan for hosting this significant international event, noting that it exemplifies the country's contribution to fostering global cooperation. She pointed out that the forum serves as a platform for establishing new partnerships and encouraging nations to learn from each other.
Additionally, she stressed the importance of green energy in the development of modern cities, asserting that its widespread use is key to reducing dependence on oil and safeguarding the environment.
