Baku: 'The number of interviews of Armenian experts and their appearances in Azerbaijani media, as well as the appearances of Azerbaijani experts in Armenian media, has increased significantly,' said Editor-in-Chief of the 'First News Media' (1news.az) internet portal Kamala Mammadova, APA reports. She made the remarks at a press conference held on the meeting of experts from Azerbaijani and Armenian civil societies within the framework of the 'Peace Bridge' initiative.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Mammadova emphasized that the media sphere was one of the key topics discussed in the panel discussions. She highlighted the significant role media plays in fostering dialogue and shaping a peace-oriented agenda. Since August, following the council's guidance, there has been a noticeable trend towards increased media interactions between the two nations. The 'Peace Bridge' initiative has facilitated an increase in the exchange of expert opinions across borders, promoting understanding and cooperation.
Mammadova noted a decrease in hate speech and stressed the importance of educating the public on the true meaning of peace through media channels. She pointed out that many individuals lack a comprehensive understanding of what peace entails. Furthermore, she underscored the necessity of disseminating information about the benefits and positive outcomes that a peace agreement could yield for both nations.
