Baku: Relevant work is being carried out to stabilize the natural decline in oil production at the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) oil fields block, bp's Regional President for Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Trkiye, Gio Cristofoli, told journalists, APA-Economics reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the ACG block has been in operation for 30 years, and a four-dimensional seismic survey is being conducted to study reservoir conditions. This survey aims to assess the current state of the reservoirs and determine the movement directions of reserves and fluids within them, which include water, oil, and gas.
Gio Cristofoli explained that understanding the movement of these elements is crucial to managing the oil field's output effectively. The seismic work program is extensive and is planned to cover a five-year period, indicating a long-term commitment to addressing the production challenges at the ACG fields.
