Gobustan: An electric locomotive operated by “Azerbaijan Railways” JSC tragically struck and killed two individuals who unexpectedly stepped onto the tracks on the Gobustan-Sangachal route. The incident occurred yesterday at 10:15 p.m., as confirmed by Azerbaijan Railways to APA-Economics.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, despite the driver’s attempt to perform emergency braking, the collision was unavoidable due to the short distance between the train and the individuals. The railway company’s statement expressed deep regret over the incident, noting that emergency personnel were promptly dispatched to the scene but were unable to save the victims, who succumbed to severe injuries. Azerbaijan Railways extended their deepest condolences to the families of the deceased.
