Baku: An electricity transmission line will be built to connect the East Zangezur economic region with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, passing through Iranian territory. This development was announced at an expanded format meeting held between Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev, who is also the Co-Chairman of the State Commission on Economic, Trade and Humanitarian Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran, and Farzaneh Sadegh, the Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Co-Chair of the Azerbaijan-Iran Intergovernmental Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, confidence was expressed that the construction of the power transmission line will not only serve to ensure energy security but will also contribute significantly to strengthening cooperation in the field of electric power between Azerbaijan and Iran.
