Emin Amrullayev visits Baku Higher Oil School

Minister of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan Emin Amrullayev have visited Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS).

First, the guest got acquainted with the educational campus, material and technical base and social infrastructure of the university.

The minister familiarized himself with the educational conditions and research environment created at BHOS and viewed classrooms and research laboratories.

Rector of Baku Higher Oil School Elmar Gasimov informed the guest in detail about the education process, the opportunities created for students and the research work carried out at the university.

Then, the minister met with students and teachers of BHOS and answered their numerous questions.

The meeting was attended by presidential scholars of the university, students who won national and international subject Olympiads and entered BHOS out of competition, as well as students who scored the highest points and have high CGPA.

Opening the event, BHOS Rector Elmar Gasimov thanked the guest for sparing the time to visit Baku Higher Oil School despite his busy schedule.

In his speech, the rector praised the reforms carried out in the field of education in recent years, noting that all the necessary measures have been taken to ensure the continuity of the quality education process during a pandemic.

Elmar Gasimov stressed that the work carried out by the Ministry of Education in this direction meets international requirements.

The rector noted that thanks to Minister Emin Amrullayev’s initiative on out-of-competition enrollment of students who have won national and international subject Olympiads, dozens of talented young people are studying at BHOS today.

Minister of Education Emin Amrullayev, in turn, expressed satisfaction with the educational environment created at Baku Higher Oil School.

“The model of a modern university has been created here, where most students want to study. For several years, Baku Higher Oil School has maintained a leading position in the admission and number of presidential scholarship holders. The learning conditions created at the university fully correspond with its intellectual contingent. This means that all conditions have been created in Azerbaijan for young people who want to get education and become competent specialists. I am for instilling knowledge and skills in students,” the minister said.

Emin Amrullayev answered in detail the questions on distance learning, recognition of an online diploma, additional professional training programs, teaching social skills to secondary school students, the process of hiring teachers, the methodology for assessing students’ knowledge, taking final, entrance and semester exams.

The Minister emphasized the importance of opening new specialties at Baku Higher Oil School for strengthening human capacity in the local labor market.

Elmar Gasimov noted that guided by the motto of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev “We must turn oil capital into human capital!”, Baku Higher Oil School will continue the honorable mission of training highly qualified English-speaking specialists.

At the end of the meeting, Emin Amrullayev was presented with a “Guest of Honor” plaque from Baku Higher Oil School.
