Baku: An online meeting focusing on the digitalization of the energy sector was conducted between specialists from the Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA) and Turkey's Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA). This meeting was part of the initiatives outlined in the 2025-2026 Inter-Forum Action Plan of the 'Regulations' Working Group under the Azerbaijan-Turkey IV Energy Forum.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting commenced with welcoming remarks from the co-chairs of the working group, Elmar Gulaliyev from AERA and Mustafa Yavuzdemir from EMRA. They highlighted the significance of the digitalization agenda and its implications for the energy sector.
EMRA specialist Zhre Aydin presented on the modernization efforts in the energy sector, discussing the transition to digital operations and the adoption of innovative management mechanisms. Aydin also shared insights into Turkey's journey in energy market digitalization, the emergence of new business models, and the evolving role of regulators in this landscape, emphasizing AI-based services.
The meeting concluded with a dynamic question-and-answer session, allowing participants to engage and discuss the topics covered in the presentation.
