Erdogan Congratulates Azerbaijan on National Salvation Day

Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has congratulated Azerbaijan on National Salvation Day. The congratulatory message was published on the Turkish President's X account.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Erdogan expressed his heartfelt wishes in the message, stating, "I sincerely congratulate dear Azerbaijan on June 15 - National Salvation Day with my heartfelt wishes, and convey Trkiye's greetings and affection to all our Azerbaijani brothers and sisters, with whom we are one nation in two states and children carrying one heart."

The message underscores the close ties between Turkey and Azerbaijan, highlighting the concept of "one nation in two states," a phrase often used to describe the strong cultural and historical bonds between the two countries. National Salvation Day in Azerbaijan commemorates the return of Heydar Aliyev to power in 1993, an event seen as pivotal in stabilizing the country during a period of significant turmoil.
