The total volume of Azerbaijani gas supplies to Europe via the Trans-Adriatic gas pipeline (TAP) amounted to 12 billion cubic meters, said Luca Schieppati, managing director of the TAP AG pipeline company.
“Through the TAP pipeline so far (since December 31, 2020) 12 bcm of gas have been delivered (to Europe – IF). Deliveries via TAP meet 10% of Italy’s needs and 17% of Greece’s needs,” Shippati said on Friday at the Baku Energy Forum.
He noted that TAP is “not only a project to diversify sources of energy supplies, but also a project that stabilizes prices.”
Shippati stressed that discussions are currently underway on the possibility of expanding the capacity of the gas pipeline. “I believe that this work should be continued to determine how best to do this,” he added.
