Baku: President of the European Council, Ant³nio Costa, arrived in the Republic of Azerbaijan on an official visit, APA reports. A guard of honor was lined up for the guest at Heydar Aliyev International Airport, where the flags of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the European Union were flying. President of the European Council Ant³nio Costa was welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister Samir Sharifov, Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev, and other officials.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Costa shared his thoughts on the visit via his X account, expressing his anticipation for discussions with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. Costa emphasized Azerbaijan's role as a key partner for the EU and noted the revitalization of their relationship over the past year. He highlighted the EU's commitment to further deepening ties in areas such as security, energy, digital, and transport. Additionally, Costa mentioned that the talks would address the latest developments in light of the rapidly evolving geopolitical situation.
